Fanelli User Report Thumb“Ultra-protective and independent lung ventilation enabled by minimally invasive extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal: A case report”

This report describes a unique case of a difficult-to-ventilate patient with severe drug poisoning resulting in coma and aspiration pneumonia of the right lung. There was a large difference between the size and compliance of the right versus left lung due to a prior right lung transplant for underlying fibroelastosis, resulting in significant ventilation and perfusion mismatch. Low-flow ECCO2R with the Hemolung RAS was used successfully to enable both independent and ultra-protective lung ventilation.

ECCO2R in COPD White Paper ThumbNew White Paper: “Low-Flow ECCO2R for Acute Exacerbation of COPD”

Low-flow extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal is a minimally invasive alternative to intubation and mechanical ventilation when NIV alone is not enough. This new clinical approach is explored in a white paper from ALung’s clinical staff.

New Presentation: The Case for ECCO2R – Indications and Evidence

This new presentation explains the basics of extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal. The rationale for using ECCO2R in AE-COPD and ARDS is detailed with a review of the current clinical evidence.
