Missy Nibert, BSN, RN – Clinical Specialist

Missy is an experienced Clinical Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry. She is skilled in Post Anesthesia Care, caring for Mechanically Ventilated patients, certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Additionally, skilled in Acute Care, and Critical Care Nursing, Burn/Trauma, Cardiovascular ICU Nursing, Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Conscious Sedation, and Pediatric Radiation Oncology. Missy is a strong healthcare services professional with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) focused in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

 

Avery Bigham, BSN, RN, CCRN – Clinical Specialist

Avery lives in a small town outside of Charlotte, NC with his wife and 3 children, Jayden 15, Blake 2, and Laney 1.  He first worked two years as a Paramedic before going to nursing school.  After nursing school, he worked in various critical care units including Surgical/Trauma, Neurosurgical, Medical, Cardiac, and Open Heart Recovery at a level 1 trauma and teaching hospital in Charlotte, NC.   As a bedside RN, Avery’s favorite place to work is Open Heart Recovery as he enjoyed getting to work with all of the invasive monitoring.  He felt that is where he had the most autonomy.  Avery spent 10 years at the bedside in critical care and taught new ICU and ER nurses in the simulation lab.  While working full time as a nurse, Avery worked on a contract basis in a clinical sales support role in the medical device industry.   He discovered that he enjoyed teaching other clinicians about exciting new technology that can help benefit their patients and this is what lead him to his current position at ALung Technologies.

 

Alette (AJ) Johnson, RRT – Clinical Specialist

Alette (AJ) comes to ALung as a Clinical Specialist, having vast clinical proficiency as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. In addition to her clinical knowledge, she has considerable experience in the Medical Device Industry. She is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through medical innovation and advancements.

 

 

Tracey Dill, RRT – Vice President Clinical Operations

Respiratory therapist and clinical trials executive with over 18 years of pulmonary related critical care and research experience, committed to enhancing the quality of life and improving the health of others through research. Tracey has experience working in various critical care units including Surgical/Trauma, Cardiac, Neurosurgical, Burn, Medical, Neonatal, Pediatric and Critical Care Transport at leading teaching hospitals across the US including Pittsburgh, PA,  Charlotte, NC and Baltimore, MD. She has extensive knowledge of medical devices, disease states, and treatment modalities. She has wide-ranging experience in all phases of research: from regulatory compliance, protocol design, contracts and budgeting, study startup and closeout, AE/SAE reporting, and developing & maintaining sponsor/ CRO relationships in Investigator, Industry and NIH lead clinical trials. She has been with ALung since 2011, supporting both commercial and clinical operations.

 

Laura Lund, PhD – Vice President Clinical Science

Laura has over 20 years of experience in the research and development of artificial lung technologies and worked clinically as a pediatric ECMO technician and for over 7 years as a clinical bioengineer with the UPMC Artificial Heart Program.  She has been with ALung Technologies since 2011, working with the FDA and critical care researcher leaders to develop the VENT-AVOID Trial.
